Role overview
The Post Closer supports the loan delivery process by getting loans ready for investors and servicers, resolving file exceptions, and making sure each file complies with underwriting and regulatory requirements before closure and delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Submit closing packages promptly for investor audit and purchase review.
- Check mortgage files against the QC checklist to confirm compliance.
- Coordinate with investors, internal partners, and title companies to collect documents needed for loan purchase.
- Follow up on document and investor suspense requests until the loan can be purchased.
- Watch funding and suspense tracking reports and escalate issues when necessary.
- Deliver responsive service to both internal teams and outside customers.
- Stay current on post-purchase and final document requests.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Prior office experience is considered an advantage, with at least 1 year being a plus.
Skills and experience
This role calls for familiarity with FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, and investor loan programs. Candidates should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and should bring strong attention to detail, good organization, solid time management, and clear written and verbal communication. The work environment is fast-paced, so adaptability is important. Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills are also expected.
