Role Overview

This position is for a District Operations Executive supporting the Kerala Government 108 Ambulance Project under GVK EMRI. The role focuses on ensuring smooth district-level ambulance operations, maintaining service quality, and coordinating people, machines, vendors, and stakeholders across Kerala.

GVK EMRI operates emergency response services for medical, police, and fire incidents through the 108 emergency service model. The service is delivered as a free public emergency response system under a public-private partnership framework.

Operations Responsibilities

  • Maintain cost-efficient operations while ensuring a consistently high level of service quality.

  • Monitor key performance indicators such as fuel efficiency, maintenance cost, tyre usage, breakdowns, accidents, emergency call metrics, VB, SNR, response time, and CFMS.

Vehicle and Fleet Management

  • Ensure ambulance uptime and support optimal vehicle performance.
  • Oversee statutory compliances, fuel usage, scheduled servicing, and warranty-related claims wherever applicable.
  • Handle breakdowns and accident recovery processes, including quick insurance claim processing.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with local vendors such as spare-part suppliers, workshops, tyre and battery providers, and fuel stations/agencies.
  • Manage inventory at both district and ambulance levels, including spares, medical equipment, and medical consumables.
  • Review audit observations and non-conformance closures, and coordinate closure reports with the quality team.
  • Maintain imprest funds for ambulances and ensure bills related to fleet operations are submitted promptly.

People and Field Operations

  • Prepare duty rosters, plan resource schedules, and manage attendance, leave, and performance at ambulance locations.
  • Create and implement the monthly schedule for ambulance visits, inspections, and record upkeep.
  • Communicate processes, policies, and operational updates to field staff.
  • Coordinate and deliver regular training programs for EMTS/Pilots, including internal and external sessions.
  • Support employee engagement and motivation initiatives.
  • Assist the HR team with recruitment, disciplinary matters, grievance handling, and industrial relations issues.
  • Maintain strong coordination with district officials and hospital authorities.
  • Support media coordination and event execution such as vehicle launches, awareness drives, and beneficiary meets.
  • Carry out additional tasks assigned by reporting managers as needed.
