Microsoft Dynamics ERP SCM Solution Architect (Functional)

About the role

We are hiring an experienced Solution Architect with deep expertise in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Supply Chain Management and strong knowledge of Dynamics AX. The role involves leading the design, architecture, and delivery of large-scale supply chain programs while ensuring that the final solution follows Microsoft’s recommended practices and fits business needs.

Core responsibilities

• Take ownership of the full solution architecture for Dynamics 365 F&O SCM projects, with attention to scalability, performance, and compliance.
• Shape the overall design for supply chain functions such as inventory, procurement, sales, warehousing, logistics, and master planning.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into practical Dynamics 365 solutions.
• Run requirement-gathering discussions, fit-gap reviews, and workshops, and then prepare and confirm solution design documents.
• Define functional design approaches for reports, integrations, and process automation within SCM.
• Advise teams on configuration standards including item and product setup, BOM, number sequences, dimension and ledger structures, and tax configuration.
• Set the approach for data migration by using data entities across SCM modules.
• Review solution quality, maintain alignment with Microsoft best practices, and identify and reduce delivery risks.
• Lead solution validation, testing planning, and cutover preparation for SCM rollouts.
• Serve as a subject-matter advisor to clients on supply chain transformation and industry best practices.
• Guide the project through discovery, design, build, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support phases.

Experience and requirements

• Overall ERP or IT experience of 15+ years, including at least 6+ years working with Dynamics AX and broad exposure to Dynamics 365 F&O SCM.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect on SCM-led implementations.
• Strong working knowledge of Inventory Management, Procurement & Sourcing, Sales Order Processing, Warehouse Management, Transfer Orders, and Master Planning.
• Proven record of delivering 3 or more end-to-end Dynamics 365 F&O SCM implementations.
• Practical experience in creating and reviewing FRD, FDD, fit-gap documents, and user guides.
• Solid understanding of testing methods, data migration planning, and integration design.
• Strong ability to engage stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and present solutions to clients.
• Microsoft Dynamics AX or Dynamics 365 certifications are preferred.
