About the role
Wagga Wagga City Council is looking for a skilled and motivated Learning & Organisational Development Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day delivery of its learning and development service and support the organisation’s goal of becoming a genuine learning-focused workplace.
Reporting to the Manager People & Culture, this is a leadership position responsible for coordinating learning and organisational development activities that strengthen workforce capability, build leadership capability, and encourage employee development across Council. The role works closely with leaders and staff to create, deliver and review practical learning solutions that contribute to meaningful organisational results.

Key duties
- Oversee the operational delivery of Council’s learning and development function.
- Plan the annual learning and development schedule, including engaging external providers and organising training sessions.
- Create, develop and deliver engaging learning programs for employees across all levels of the organisation.
- Support the organisation’s aim of building a high-performing learning culture.
- Coordinate the induction process and the annual performance development cycle.
- Drive initiatives that support trainees, apprentices, cadets, graduates and school-based trainees.
- Manage the Bob Osborne Skills Centre and associated learning materials and resources.
- Coordinate employee engagement activities, including the Employee Opinion Survey.
- Track learning and development budgets and prepare required reports.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to a dedicated learning and development team.
Selection criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or a similar discipline.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Current Class C driver’s licence.
- Proven experience working in learning and development and organisational development settings.
- Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
