Role overview
The housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe hospital environment.
Key duties
- Clean offices, patient rooms, classrooms, shared spaces, restrooms, hallways, food service areas, and other assigned locations.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors, and vacuum corridors, stairways, and office areas.
- Use cleaning chemicals correctly and safely in line with established standards.
- Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Prior housekeeping experience is an advantage, especially in a healthcare setting. The role requires familiarity with housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, buffers, battery-operated machines, mops, and carpet-cleaning tools, along with reading and numerical ability. Strong customer service skills are also important.
