This is an intermediate-level role focused on delivering planning and environmental approval work across New Zealand while contributing to a globally connected team of engineers, scientists, planners, and environmental specialists.

What you’ll do

  • Support the development of environmental assessments and planning consent applications for projects across New Zealand.
  • Carry out consultation and relationship management with consent authorities, iwi, stakeholders, landowners, members of the public, and other affected parties.
  • Assist and coach junior planners by providing practical guidance and support.
  • Take ownership of your assigned project tasks and work closely with project stakeholders to help deliver a strong client experience.
  • Collaborate with a nationwide planning network, learning from Senior Planners and Technical Directors.
  • Develop your career through mentoring, training, and participation in professional bodies and GHD’s global technical communities.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and flexible workplace culture that supports work-life balance.

What you need

You should hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least 3 years of experience in environmental planning. Experience with district and regional consenting, especially on infrastructure projects, is preferred.
