Electrical Estimator

Position overview

An established commercial electrical contractor in the Tucson area, working in partnership with Topa Group, Inc., is seeking an Electrical Estimator. In this role, you will build accurate, competitive pricing for commercial electrical work and support the company’s business development efforts. You will also coordinate closely with project managers and operations staff to help ensure smooth transitions from bidding to execution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial electrical projects.
• Complete material and labor takeoffs and prepare pricing using Accubid.
• Evaluate drawings, technical specifications, and bid packages.
• Request, compare, and assess pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Spot project risks, potential value-engineering options, and missing scope items.
• Work with project management and operations teams during bid handoff.
• Keep estimate files organized and maintain records of historical cost information.

Required qualifications

• Background as an Electrical Estimator with a commercial electrical contractor.
• Hands-on expertise with Accubid.
• Solid knowledge of commercial electrical systems and construction techniques.
• Ability to understand plans, specifications, and addenda.
• Strong analytical ability along with good organization and communication skills.
• Capable of managing several bids and deadlines at the same time.
