About the Role
WSP is hiring an experienced or senior ecologist to join its Wellington team. This position is suited to someone ready to take the next step in their ecology career and contribute to projects that matter locally and internationally. The role offers the chance to help deliver work that supports the wider Earth and Environment sector while progressing your own professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ecological assignments end to end, including fieldwork, analysis, and report preparation.
- Offer practical guidance on ecological and environmental topics.
- Support the development of junior colleagues through mentoring and day-to-day assistance.
- Work closely with clients, external stakeholders, and industry partners to deliver project outcomes.
- Maintain adherence to environmental legislation, regulations, and internal quality expectations.
- Help expand the ecology practice through business development activities and service growth initiatives.
About You
- You hold a relevant tertiary qualification and bring around 5 or more years of professional experience, ideally.
- You are a Certified Environmental Practitioner, or you are actively working towards certification.
- You have strong capability in technical work, data analysis, and project coordination.
- You can collaborate effectively and build productive relationships across different levels.
- You are motivated to deliver sensible, client-focused solutions.
