Champion Home Builders is looking for a Drafter to join its Claysburg, Pennsylvania team. This position focuses on preparing model drawings and detailed construction drawings for homes, along with performing calculations and analysis that support design work.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop designs from rough sketches, specifications, drawings, and other engineering details provided by Sales and customers.
- Prepare detailed construction and installation drawings for structural and utility components such as walls, roofs, floors, plumbing, water systems, electrical layouts, cabinets, gas lines, duct prints, foundations, and elevations.
- Work with CAD tools and software to produce precise technical drawings.
- Create construction drawings for homes and related installations, including pier blocking and other specified systems.
- Prepare limited approvals and route them to sales teams and third-party agencies.
- Apply knowledge of commercial and residential building codes in the United States.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality Control teams to resolve drawing or design issues.
- Revise layouts and modify home arrangements and connected systems as needed.
- Use engineering principles, mathematics, materials knowledge, and related physical science concepts to complete accurate drawings.
- Annotate drawings with dimensions, materials, and other details required for clarity and completeness.
- Produce design calculations using approved software for analysis purposes.
- Submit drawings to outside agencies for review and approval.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school with advanced AutoCAD training, or 2 to 5 years of relevant AutoCAD work experience, or an equivalent mix of education and training.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD version 2015 or later.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.
- Fast learner with the ability to pick up new processes quickly.
- Familiarity with commercial and residential building codes in the U.S.
