Description de l'emploi

About the Organisation

Waipuna Hospice provides compassionate end-of-life care throughout the Western Bay of Plenty. Its services focus on person-centred support for people living with life-limiting illness, including care delivered in patients’ homes and in its inpatient unit in Te Puna for those who need additional support. The organisation is a charity supported by donors, fundraising efforts, charity shops, and partial government funding.

About the Role

This position sits at the core of fundraising performance by combining donor support, relationship development, and supporter growth. The successful person will help shape meaningful experiences for supporters while strengthening the donor base and improving income generation.

In this Tauranga-based role, you will work to create a positive, empathetic, and professional experience for supporters while helping convert first-time engagement into ongoing support.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide warm, thoughtful, and high-quality care to donors and supporters.
  • Develop strong relationships that encourage one-time supporters to become long-term donors.
  • Increase regular giving, supporter retention, and engagement through calls, follow-ups, and targeted campaigns.
  • Use data and insights to improve supporter communication and engagement approaches.
  • Help maximise fundraising income while ensuring supporters feel appreciated, connected, and motivated to continue supporting the organisation.

About You

You should be someone who combines empathy with a strong focus on outcomes. This role suits a confident communicator who can build rapport, influence decisions over the phone, and stay organised across multiple priorities.

A genuine interest in helping people and contributing to the community is essential.

Experience and Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in donor care, customer service, sales, or relationship management.
  • Confidence in phone-based conversations with the ability to influence and convert.
  • Proven success in meeting targets linked to conversion, retention, or revenue.
  • Strong communication skills and well-developed emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to manage several priorities in a busy, fast-moving environment.
  • Careful attention to detail and experience using CRM or database systems.
  • Helpful background in fundraising, not-for-profit work, or healthcare settings.
  • Understanding of donor stewardship, supporter journeys, and campaign delivery.
  • Experience with regular giving or retention programmes would be an advantage.

What’s Offered

  • A friendly, enjoyable, and supportive team culture.
  • Good working conditions.
  • Staff wellness programmes.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development.
  • A competitive pay package.
  • Discounts with local dentists, pharmacies, and health insurance providers.
  • Free onsite parking.
