Description de l'emploi
Role overview
This is a role for a partner company, which will handle applications and the remaining hiring steps. The company is seeking a Developer Portal & Community Manager in Nigeria.
The role is central to how a highly technical open hardware product is explained, documented, and adopted by its worldwide developer audience. You will take full ownership of the Developer Portal, turning it into a dependable, well-organized reference point for engineers, contributors, and enthusiasts. In close partnership with hardware and software teams, you will convert complex internal development work into public-facing documentation and useful community updates. This is a practical technical communication position, where a strong grasp of the product matters just as much as the ability to describe it clearly. You will also connect internal engineering teams with the external community so that feedback moves effectively in both directions. The work environment is collaborative, fast-paced, transparent, and strongly focused on open development.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of the Developer Portal, keep its structure coherent, and continuously improve its accuracy and usefulness for developers and external contributors.
- Turn engineering conversations, technical changes, and product updates into documentation that is easy to read and understand.
- Manage wiki content, GitHub repositories, and other developer resources across several sub-projects.
- Join engineering discussions and team meetings to remain aligned with product direction and active development work.
- Review and moderate community issues, discussions, pull requests, and contributions to maintain quality and constructive collaboration.
- Gather input from the developer community, identify meaningful takeaways, and share them with internal teams.
- Keep community communication organized, focused, and aligned with project objectives.
- Help developers understand how to use the portal, contribute effectively, and engage with the wider ecosystem.
Requirements
- Excellent English writing ability with a demonstrated capacity to create technical documentation, guides, or README-style materials.
- Good understanding of software development workflows, including Git, branches, commits, and pull requests.
- Ability to simplify complex technical topics into structured explanations, with diagrams or flowcharts when helpful.
- Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to draw useful insights from technical conversations.
- Comfort working closely with engineers and participating in technical discussions across both hardware and software areas.
- Ability to separate useful feedback from background noise and keep attention on high-quality contributions.
- Well-developed organizational skills and a strong focus on structure, clarity, and information architecture.
- Strong interest in developer tools, hardware products, open-source ecosystems, and build-in-public style development.
- Fluency in English and Russian for communication with teams and the community.
- Experience in DevRel, technical writing, community management, or developer portals is considered a strong advantage.
Perks and benefits
- Fully remote work with the freedom to operate from anywhere in the world.
- Company-provided equipment to support a comfortable and productive home setup.
- Health and wellness support, including medical coverage, therapy sessions, and sports-related programs.
- Language learning support plus opportunities for professional growth.
- Flexible working hours within a structured five-day workweek.
- The chance to contribute to advanced open hardware and software initiatives.
- A direct role in shaping how a global developer community understands and uses a major product ecosystem.
- A collaborative, transparent, and engineering-led workplace.
