About the role
Danaher is a global organization with more than 65,000 associates working across 15+ operating companies in three major platforms: life sciences, diagnostics, and biotechnology. The company emphasizes growth, innovation, and continuous improvement through the Danaher Business System (DBS).
The DBSO Director, Lean will lead efforts to drive successful DBS implementation across Danaher companies so sites can achieve their policy deployment and KPI goals. The role also focuses on strengthening DBS sustainability across the broader organization and within selected mentored operating companies and sites.
This role sits within the Danaher Business System Office and is remote, with eligibility to work from the UK, Sweden, or Ireland.
Key responsibilities
- Drive stronger SQDC outcomes by applying DBS methods, coaching, and change management practices, with particular attention to Danaher Reliability Systems.
- Support operating company and site leaders in building a DBS roadmap aligned with PD, CVD, KPI, and sustainability targets.
- Advance DBS tools, own the process for selected tools, encourage adoption and continuous improvement, and help develop a global network of CPs and ACPs.
- Strengthen DBS culture and capability across Danaher by mentoring associates in DBS Fundamentals and other relevant tools.
- Expand lean thinking and business understanding by applying DBS concepts across diverse manufacturing and business settings.
Required qualifications
- At least 10 years of leadership experience in engineering and/or quality systems, along with a BS or BA degree in Engineering or Business.
- Working knowledge of regulations in diagnostics, life sciences, and pharmaceutical environments, such as FDA, GMP, and ISO, is preferred.
- Strong ability to evaluate business metrics and strategic situations while also handling technical problem-solving; solid data analytics capability is essential.
- Deep command of DBS Fundamentals and Danaher Reliability System tools, ideally with CP or ACP status.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven record of influencing senior leadership.
- Strong time management and project management skills.
