Role Overview
Derick HVAC-R is seeking an entry-level Data Insights Analyst to join the team on a full-time, on-site basis in Australia. This position is suited to someone who enjoys working with data, spotting patterns, and turning information into practical business guidance. The role will involve partnering with different teams to support decision-making, performance tracking, and opportunity discovery through analysis and reporting.
What You'll Do
- Gather data from different sources, clean and organize it, and examine it for trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
- Build and update reports, dashboards, and visual summaries that help leaders make informed decisions.
- Track key performance indicators and share regular insights on business performance.
- Prepare analytical input and recommendations for marketing and broader business planning.
- Carry out one-off analyses to answer specific questions and support active initiatives.
- Maintain data reliability by checking accuracy, consistency, and quality across reporting tools.
- Work with teams across the business to understand information needs and reporting expectations.
- Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders in a concise and practical way.
- Help improve reporting processes, analytics workflows, and overall data capabilities.
What You Need
- A bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Economics, or a similar discipline.
- Good analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability, with strong attention to detail.
- Foundational understanding of data analysis and reporting methods.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Exposure to data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio will be considered an advantage.
- Basic SQL knowledge is preferred.
- Understanding of statistics and how to interpret data is important.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation ability.
- Ability to work well on your own and as part of a team.
- Internships, academic projects, or previous data-related experience are welcome but not essential.
