Role Summary

This position is responsible for setting up and running different machine tools to manufacture accurate parts and instruments. The role may also include building, modifying, or repairing mechanical instruments and making or restoring parts for machine tools and industrial equipment using knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal characteristics, layout, and machining methods.

Key Duties

• Run basic machines and equipment while completing routine operational tasks.
• Follow established work methods to carry out day-to-day production activities.
• Assist with equipment preparation, maintenance, and repair work.
• Observe mandatory health, safety, and environmental instructions to protect people and the workplace.
• Follow required procedures to maintain quality standards and comply with internal and external rules.
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances.
• Communicate courteously and exchange information with colleagues.
• Work with guidance to understand policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
• Perform any other assigned duties as needed.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should communicate clearly, organize and prioritize work with guidance, and apply basic health and safety practices. The role also requires hands-on machining experience in a manufacturing or repair setting, including work with manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes and mills.

Experience and Education

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience. The role also notes at least 2 years of machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment.
