Role overview
Subhanu Technologies & Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior WordPress / CMS Developer to join its international engineering group in Bangalore. Core responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support websites and web applications on WordPress, including custom themes, custom plugins, and Gutenberg blocks.
- Extend WordPress functionality by writing custom code and building reusable modules.
- Improve application speed, security, and long-term scalability.
- Work across CMS platforms, with WordPress as the primary stack and Drupal/Joomla as optional add-on experience.
- Create custom templates, reusable building blocks, and flexible content structures.
- Partner with UI/UX teams to deliver modern, responsive user interfaces.
- Write well-structured HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with React or Vue-based interaction experience considered a plus.
- Connect websites with APIs, external services, third-party tools, payment gateways, and CRM systems.
- Handle CMS migrations, data import/export tasks, and platform upgrades.
- Perform functional, cross-browser, and performance testing; troubleshoot issues such as plugin or theme conflicts.
- Collaborate with design, QA, project management, and backend teams.
- Guide junior developers technically and keep clear documentation for builds, configurations, and workflows.
Skills and experience required
- 4 to 7 years of professional WordPress development experience.
- Strong command of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress architecture.
- Hands-on experience with custom theme and plugin development.
- Experience integrating REST APIs.
- Understanding of security, SEO, and accessibility best practices.
- Proficiency with Git version control.
- Experience with Drupal or other CMS platforms is an advantage.
- Exposure to React, Vue.js, or Next.js is preferred.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, Docker, and cloud hosting is a plus.
