Business Analyst (Entry / Junior)

Role overview

This part-time junior Business Analyst position supports evidence-based decisions across educational initiatives and internal workflows. The role is based in Melbourne, Victoria, and combines office collaboration with the flexibility to work from home.

What you will do

• Collect, clarify, and record business needs from relevant stakeholders.
• Review current workflows, map processes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Help shape reporting and metrics that support day-to-day and project-level decisions.
• Convert stakeholder needs into structured, easy-to-follow requirements and specifications.
• Assist with checking and validating proposed solutions during testing.
• Prepare slide decks, summaries, and written updates that communicate findings clearly to different audiences.

Skills and qualifications

• Strong analytical ability to work with data, spot patterns, and support recommendations.
• Ability to gather and document both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Process mapping and workflow analysis experience or knowledge.
• Clear written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement and documentation.
• Basic familiarity with spreadsheets, dashboards, or business intelligence tools.
• Interest in education, learning technology, and mission-led work.
• Capacity to stay organized, learn quickly, and work effectively in a hybrid setup.
• Studying or having completed tertiary education in Business, Information Systems, Data/Analytics, Education, or a related discipline is preferred.
