Yard Hand

Overview

Vertex Resource Group Ltd. is hiring a full-time Yard Hand for its Calmar, Alberta location. This role is centered on yard operations, general material handling, and hands-on support for shop and field activities.

Candidate Profile

• Strong organizational ability and good attention to detail.
• Self-driven approach with the ability to work productively without constant supervision.
• Comfortable collaborating with a team and taking direction from others when needed.
• Capable of communicating clearly and carrying out physically demanding tasks.
• Able to stand, climb, bend, and lift as much as 50 lbs for long stretches.
• Able to manage time well while maintaining efficiency and productivity.
• Commitment to completing work safely and efficiently at all times.

Responsibilities

• Carry out most daily work in the yard area.
• Move materials in a neat and orderly manner.
• Handle materials both inside the shop and outdoors.
• Prepare parts for welding or support others in that process.
• Help relocate bins and empty them as required.
• Support welders and mechanics with a variety of assigned tasks.
• Use basic hand tools and powered hand tools appropriately.
• Follow workplace safety procedures to maintain a safe environment.
• Wash trucks, trailers, and other equipment using pressure washing equipment.
• Take on additional duties as needed.

This role is based in Calmar, AB.
