How you’ll work

• You will write code to benchmark APIs and tools instead of relying only on descriptions.
• You should be comfortable working with spreadsheets, lightweight scripts, and straightforward charts that accurately reflect the data.
• You will test no-code platforms and agent ecosystems hands-on, including n8n, OpenClaw, Hermes, MCP, and AI workflow tools.
• You will also improve documentation and product quality by using the product yourself and identifying gaps.

What you’ll do

• Create “best X API” style comparisons supported by real benchmarks, including the method used to produce the results.
• Run estimates over time, repeat measurements, and refresh the work as conditions change.
• Evaluate tools such as no-code platforms, agent frameworks, and AI workflows with practical, honest reviews.
• Surface weaknesses in documentation and product experience, then help improve them.
• Convert research into content that performs in search and drives conversions, with usefulness coming before discoverability.

The difficult parts

• Proper research takes time, and a fair benchmark takes longer than an opinion piece.
• You may need to publish results that are not flattering, even when they reflect poorly on the company.
• You are expected to build the testing framework as well as write the article; the underlying code and data matter as much as the prose.
• You will often need to decide which questions are worth answering in the first place.

About you

• You are a technical writer who can also code and can set up a benchmark, then explain it clearly.
• You are intellectually honest and follow the evidence even when it is inconvenient.
• You are comfortable working with APIs and tooling, including reading documentation, making calls, and wiring up tests without much guidance.
• You are genuinely curious about the AI tooling landscape and enjoy trying new products.
• You work independently and do not need a detailed content calendar handed to you.
• You write in native or near-native English, since writing is central to the job.

Required experience

• At least one long-form technical piece you created, along with the code or data that supports a benchmark or estimate in that piece.

Preferred background

• A blog or portfolio focused on durable technical content.
• Hands-on experience benchmarking APIs, tools, or models.
• Exposure to the no-code and agent tooling ecosystem.

What to include in your application

Share one technical piece you wrote and the code or dataset behind one number in it. Also explain in two sentences how that number could be reproduced from scratch. The company is looking for evidence of real research with a reproducible method, not polished prose without proof.
