Role Summary
This full-time Talent Manager position is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with a hybrid arrangement that offers some work-from-home flexibility. The role is responsible for managing the full talent lifecycle, from workforce planning and hiring to interview coordination and selection across multiple business units. The position also requires building and rolling out talent development initiatives such as onboarding, performance management, coaching, and career growth frameworks that support the company’s strategic direction.
Key Duties
- Lead end-to-end talent management activities, including planning future workforce needs and supporting hiring priorities.
- Source, attract, and recruit strong candidates for key roles across the organization.
- Organize and support interview, assessment, and selection processes with hiring managers and other stakeholders.
- Develop and execute programs for onboarding, learning, performance improvement, coaching, and career progression.
- Work with leadership to identify critical positions, succession plans, and retention strategies.
- Help foster an inclusive, high-performing, and positive workplace culture.
- Maintain HR records, prepare reports, and use people data to guide decisions.
- Ensure practices follow applicable employment legislation and internal company policies.
- Partner with managers on organizational structure, employee engagement, and change management initiatives.
Required Profile
- Background in talent management, human resources, or people operations, with hands-on exposure to recruitment, performance management, and employee development.
- Strong ability to work with stakeholders, build professional relationships, and collaborate across functions and levels.
- Experience creating and implementing talent initiatives such as onboarding, training, succession planning, and engagement activities.
- Comfort working with HR data, reporting tools, HRIS platforms, or applicant tracking systems to support informed decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and conflict-management abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Good understanding of employment law, HR standards, and organizational policies relevant to Tanzania and regional operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional HR certification will be considered an added advantage.
- Prior experience in fast-moving, multi-business, media, marketing, or technology settings is an advantage.
