Key responsibilities

  • Oversee procurement, materials control, logistics, and inventory functions that keep aircraft production schedules on track.
  • Create and put into action supply chain plans that support both operational priorities and financial goals.
  • Deliver against KPIs related to on-time material supply, inventory accuracy, supplier performance, cost savings, and purchase order turnaround time.
  • Build and maintain supplier partnerships, including negotiating agreements, tracking performance, and reducing supply risks.
  • Work closely with Program Management, Engineering, and Operations to anticipate material needs and avoid schedule slippage.
  • Manage purchasing for aircraft parts, avionics, connectivity equipment, cabin interiors, and other related materials.
  • Ensure adherence to FAA rules, traceability expectations, and quality standards for aviation materials.
  • Track inventory to protect working capital while keeping operations supplied and ready.
  • Partner with internal audit, finance, and outside auditors to support cycle count checks, maintain documentation that is ready for audit review, and ensure full traceability of rotable, expendable, and consumable aviation assets in line with regulatory and airworthiness requirements.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of tooling assets, including buying, calibration planning, maintenance coordination, and repair management to ensure readiness and compliance with aviation regulations and quality systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts that raise supply chain efficiency and lower cost.
  • Manage supply chain budgets and look for opportunities to reduce spend and improve processes.
  • Resolve shortages, vendor concerns, and logistics issues quickly to limit impact on production.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a closely related field.
  • Between 5 and 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or materials management, ideally within aviation, aerospace, or manufacturing.

  • Proven ability to meet operational performance targets and manage budgets effectively.

  • Preferred: experience managing supply chain teams in a multi-site environment.
  • Ability to lead buyers, procurement specialists, inventory staff, and logistics personnel.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, evaluating performance, and developing team members.
  • Strong grasp of aviation supply chain behavior, lead times, and regulatory expectations.
  • Financial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and examine cost drivers.
  • Strategic mindset with practical, hands-on leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability in a fast-moving production setting.
