About the Role
Engine is hiring a Staff Product Data Analyst for the Engine X team, which owns the company’s flagship corporate charge card product. In this role, you will help drive product and business decisions through accurate, well-structured, and timely analysis of transaction activity, rewards usage, activation behavior, spending patterns, and booking trends. You will create and improve dashboards, investigate irregularities, support experimentation, and work closely with cross-functional partners to turn data into clear business actions. The position has a direct impact on product direction, operational performance, and company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and continuously improve dashboards that monitor core product metrics such as activation, spend volume, booking value, rewards usage, and retention.
- Track important Engine X performance indicators on an ongoing basis and provide stakeholders with reliable, current reporting.
- Identify unusual data patterns, trace the root cause, document the outcome, and share findings early with relevant teams.
- Write advanced SQL queries to pull, clean, combine, and summarize data from Snowflake.
- Create reusable reporting assets and data models that are organized, scalable, and clearly documented.
- Help plan and evaluate A/B tests and other product experiments by setting up analytical approaches, reviewing results, and translating them into recommendations.
- Work with product managers, senior analysts, and engineers to define requirements, confirm pipeline accuracy, and maintain strong data quality.
- Keep detailed documentation for metrics, data structures, definitions, and known constraints.
- Coordinate with analytics engineering and data engineering partners to resolve data issues and verify pipeline outputs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or another quantitative field.
- At least 7 years of experience in data analytics or a closely related analytical role.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, aggregations, and window functions, ideally in Snowflake.
- Experience creating and maintaining dashboards or reporting systems in tools such as HEX, Looker, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
- High attention to detail with clear ownership of data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when presenting insights to non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing and statistical analysis.
- Interest in the product and business context behind the data.
- Background in fintech, payments, card products, or financial services analytics is preferred.
- Exposure to dbt or collaboration with analytics engineering teams is a plus.
Benefits
- Competitive base pay, with the possibility of bonuses, equity, and variable compensation.
- Room for career growth in a rapidly expanding company.
- Opportunity to work on products at the intersection of travel and fintech.
- Supportive mentorship and a collaborative, data-focused culture.
- Flexible work setup with hybrid or remote options.
- Comprehensive health, wellness, and other employee benefits, with more details available from the company.
