Shop/Plan Operator - Entry

Role Overview

This position is for an entry-level Shop/Plan Operator at Baker Hughes in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The role supports reliable day-to-day plant and service shop operations, with a focus on control valve assembly, testing, and shopfloor execution.

What You Will Do

• Carry out assembly and testing of control valves and related accessories.
• Complete pre-job preparations, including machine checks and tester condition verification using the checklist.
• Keep the workstation organized and maintain the necessary records and communications.
• Record the hours worked for the manufacturing activity assigned.
• Prepare control valves and sub-assemblies for dispatch.
• Follow shopfloor rules related to shift timing, lunch breaks, and PPE usage.
• Support daily plant operations to help maintain consistency and reliability on the production line, including service shop activities.

What We Are Looking For

• A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• 2 to 5 years of overall work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and procedures.
• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
• Basic understanding of 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
• Ability to raise safety, quality, and routing concerns with the supervisor.
• Commitment to Baker Hughes HSE policies and legal compliance requirements.
