Role overview
As a Shift Leader at Papa John’s in Belton, you will oversee one or more shifts and work areas in the restaurant to help deliver consistently high product quality and strong customer service. The role is focused on supporting restaurant profitability through smooth day-to-day operations, proper use of company systems, and strict adherence to policies, procedures, and legal standards.
What you will do
- Guide team members on station standards, including dough handling, correct portioning, and accurate product preparation.
- Complete assigned station tasks and make sure products are prepared, held, and served according to established procedures and timing.
- Support the restaurant in meeting its product and service targets while helping reduce customer complaints and responding appropriately to customer needs.
- Follow company rules and handbook expectations around appearance, attendance, safety, and security.
- Demonstrate the company’s values by staying positive, cooperating well with others, and adapting to changes when needed.
- Make sure shifts are properly staffed, provide prompt feedback, and correct issues as soon as they are identified.
- Help maintain acceptable standards for food quality, customer service, cleanliness, labor and food cost control, and readiness of the restaurant.
- Support profit objectives by using the FOCUS system accurately, handling cash management responsibilities, and helping maintain inventory levels to reduce losses.
- Ensure the restaurant operates in line with all relevant federal, state, and local laws as well as ethical business practices.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a stable employment record and preferably previous experience leading shifts in a restaurant. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and a ServSafe or local/state food service certification is also preferred. You must be at least 18 years old and able to perform the duties of all restaurant positions. The role requires the ability to work long shifts, generally 32+ hours per week, including nights, weekends, and emergency cover when needed.
