Role overview
This is a senior, high-impact strategy position with a leading Australian alternative investment platform in Sydney. Reporting to the CFO and Head of Strategy, the role is focused on shaping and delivering enterprise-wide priorities across a diversified business that is expanding quickly.
The position sits at the intersection of strategy design, transformation, and execution. It offers broad exposure to executive leaders and Board-level decision making, and is well suited to someone who wants a commercial role with significant influence in financial services.
What you will do
You will partner closely with senior leaders to define long-term direction, convert strategic goals into practical programs, and support delivery across a complex organisation. The job combines big-picture thinking with hands-on implementation and follow-through.
- Lead the creation and regular updating of the organisation’s enterprise strategy.
- Support executive and Board planning discussions and strategy sessions.
- Build investment cases and carry out strategic reviews.
- Drive transformation initiatives from initial concept through implementation and benefits tracking.
- Work with stakeholders across the business to align priorities and execution.
- Set up performance measures and monitor strategic results.
- Identify delivery risks and help resolve issues that may affect outcomes.
- Ensure strategic initiatives are implemented effectively and deliver the intended value.
Candidate profile
The preferred candidate will bring around 9 to 12 years of experience, ideally starting in management consulting and later moving into strategy, transformation, corporate development, or another commercially focused role. Experience in financial services, asset management, private equity, investment banking, or similarly fast-moving, complex environments will be viewed positively.
You should be an excellent problem solver with strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. A history of delivering strategic projects and turning plans into action is essential. The role will suit someone who is comfortable switching between strategic analysis and practical execution.
What is on offer
An attractive remuneration package is available, along with a collaborative team environment and the chance to make a meaningful contribution at leadership level.
