Role overview
This position is for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on checking project quantities, validating payment requests, supporting contract administration, and helping close out final accounts on infrastructure works.
Core responsibilities
- Check measured quantities and assess payment applications at project locations in line with contract terms and established payment procedures.
- Examine certified work, materials, and final account documents to confirm they are accurate and compliant.
- Carry out technical reviews to spot discrepancies, calculation mistakes, and any departures from contractual obligations.
- Draft quantity verification reports and recommend corrective actions where needed.
- Handle project payment submissions and offer contractual guidance on payments to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with contract closeout tasks and the preparation and review of final account settlements.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution is required.
- MRICS membership is mandatory.
- At least 15 years of post-graduate experience in quantity surveying is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of site-based work on large infrastructure, highway, or road projects is necessary.
- Strong understanding of procurement approaches, consultancy and construction agreements, and international contract terms is expected.
- Considerable hands-on experience with CESMM (Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement) is required.
- Prior GCC exposure is preferred, and 5 or more years in the Gulf region is highly desirable.
