Responsibilities

  • Assess and sign off material submittals, mix designs, and samples in line with QCS requirements and Ashghal specifications.
  • Oversee materials testing carried out both on site and off site, and evaluate laboratory findings.
  • Confirm that all construction materials satisfy the project’s technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Detect materials that do not comply and make sure the necessary corrective measures are taken.
  • Carry out inspections at site to check material use, storage practices, and adherence to requirements.
  • Liaise with contractors, testing laboratories, and the supervision team on all materials-related matters.
  • Keep accurate records of materials approvals, supporting documents, and quality control files.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
  • The ideal candidate should have 12 to 15 years of hands-on experience in materials engineering, preferably on Ashghal roads or infrastructure works in Qatar.
  • Strong working knowledge of QCS, Ashghal standards, and common materials testing methods is essential.
  • Experience with engineering consultancies on large infrastructure assignments is important.
  • MMUP/UPDA registration is mandatory.
  • Professional membership with a recognized engineering institution will be considered an advantage.
