Role overview

ASB Bank is looking to appoint two permanent Resilience Managers as the organisation expands its capability to meet changing regulatory expectations. The Business Resilience team is central to preparing the business for disruptions and responding effectively when incidents occur. Its work supports and strengthens Business Continuity and Crisis Management practices so that employees, customers, and stakeholders are better protected.

Professionals with backgrounds in Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, or Crisis Management are encouraged to apply from a variety of sectors. Experience in financial services would be an advantage, though it is not mandatory.

What the role involves

In this position, you will work across the ASB Group to improve Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, and Crisis Management capability. You will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to help ensure the organisation is ready to manage disruption and keep improving how it operates.

  • Keep Business Continuity and Crisis Management frameworks current, practical, and fit for purpose.
  • Provide advice, coaching, and training to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Help shape and deliver business continuity and crisis response plans.
  • Create and run scenario-based exercises to test readiness.
  • Support live incident response to reduce the effect on employees and customers.
  • Lead ongoing improvement initiatives across resilience capabilities and supporting frameworks.
  • Review and challenge resilience arrangements, including plans, controls, and third-party preparedness.
  • Contribute to crisis response activity and broader resilience uplift work across the bank.
  • Maintain readiness for 24/7 crisis response coverage, including on-call participation.

This role provides broad exposure across the enterprise and the chance to help shape the future direction of the Business Resilience function.

What you’ll bring

You will be a collaborative resilience professional with strong commercial awareness and the ability to engage stakeholders and deliver meaningful outcomes.

  • Hands-on experience in Business Continuity, Operational Resilience, and/or Crisis Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience delivering guidance, training, and advisory support.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement in large or complex settings.
  • Solid understanding of risk management principles.
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations such as BS11, the Deposit Takers Act, or CPS230 is desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as BCI or ISO22301 are a plus.
