Role overview
This position is based at a client site in County Mayo, Ireland and sits within the Maintenance Excellence Program (MEP). The role is focused on applying reliability engineering practices to improve equipment performance, reduce failures, and support continuous improvement. The successful person will work as an independent technical contributor and act as a problem-solver within the team.
Key responsibilities
- Create a reliability strategy and roadmap for the assigned business unit and secure approval from the Senior Leadership Team.
- Promote a reliability-led culture by driving Reliability Centred Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, Preventive Maintenance Optimisation, and Reliability Improvement Projects.
- Review and strengthen the predictive maintenance programme so that emerging issues can be identified early, prevented, and tracked through an annual rolling cost-saving log.
- Assess highly automated equipment, build a top 10 bad-actor analysis, and identify, implement, and report on corrective actions for the three highest-value loss drivers.
- Connect improvement actions to measurable financial gains and prioritise work based on the biggest business impact.
- Develop effective working relationships with Global Engineering as well as local engineering and maintenance teams.
- Contribute actively to the reliability engineering community of practice and smart maintenance initiatives.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Promote strong EHS practices and help reinforce the site’s safety culture.
Qualifications and experience
The role requires a third-level qualification in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in a regulated and/or highly automated setting. Candidates should bring strong data analysis capability and practical experience in reliability engineering and continuous improvement. Relevant certifications such as Green Belt, CMRP, or CRL are considered an advantage. The ideal candidate will also have a proven ability to analyse machinery, implement improvements, and measure meaningful gains in OEE.
