Role Overview

This position is for a safety-conscious team member who can manage donated goods efficiently in a busy backroom setting. The role supports smooth processing of merchandise, helps reduce waste, and contributes to recycling efforts by organizing, handling, and moving donations to the right areas.

What You Will Do

• Unload donated items, sort them, and place them into the correct bins.
• Weigh, tag, and log incoming merchandise while keeping bins arranged by date.
• Monitor donation bins and move items forward for processing when needed.
• Restock sub-department inventory and move bins that have been redirected.
• Dispose of unusable or damaged items according to company procedures.
• Assist with baling, compacting, recycling, and organizing back-stock.
• Help prepare for sale days and complete other general operational tasks.
• Keep the processing and donation areas tidy, orderly, and free of hazards.
• Use balers, compactors, and forklifts only when certified, following all safety steps.
• Follow safe lifting practices, wear required protective gear, and immediately report hazards.
• Complete simple administrative tasks such as recording weights and inventory details.

Availability

This job requires open availability, including weekends, holidays, and closing shifts. Availability is also expected for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience and Qualifications

Applicants should have at least 1 year of warehouse experience. The role calls for strong attention to safety, efficient operations, and solid mechanical/technical ability. Helpful additional experience includes working with a forklift, baler, or garbage compactor, having a background in thrift retail, or holding a valid Class G Driver's License with 3 years of experience driving delivery vans.

Physical and Work Environment

The work involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and continuous movement during the shift. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull rolling containers weighing up to 500 lbs. The environment may include dust, dirt, insects, garbage, occasional rodents, noise, and changing temperatures. Regular interaction with customers and the public is also part of the job.

Pay

The role pays $17.95 per hour.
