Job Summary
This role is for an experienced proofreader to support a busy creative production team serving a global consumer brand. The position calls for solid proofreading, copyediting, and quality assurance experience across marketing and technical materials, along with a sharp eye for detail, the ability to juggle several assignments at once, and a strong focus on keeping brand voice and standards consistent across print and digital deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Review and proof a large volume of marketing content and brand communications.
- Check that all materials are accurate, consistent, and aligned with brand guidelines.
- Work across a range of assets such as product packaging, retail signage, partner-facing communications, e-commerce pages, product pages, feature pages, marketing guides, and brand documentation.
- Partner with editors, legal reviewers, project managers, production teams, and marketing stakeholders.
- Protect confidentiality while maintaining high standards for quality and brand integrity.
- Monitor multiple projects, milestones, and deadlines in a fast-moving production setting.
- Use ticketing and workflow tools to route and manage deliverables efficiently.
- Spot and correct issues related to content accuracy, formatting, grammar, spelling, and consistency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience in proofreading, copyediting, or editorial review.
- Background in reviewing marketing, advertising, branding, or technical content.
- Prior work with creative agencies, design firms, publishing teams, or corporate marketing groups.
- Strong grasp of production workflows and brand communication standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Capability to handle competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Preferred: experience with global consumer brands.
- Preferred: familiarity with retail, e-commerce, packaging, and interactive content.
- Preferred: experience in high-volume production environments.
- Preferred: knowledge of brand governance and quality control processes.
Technical Skills
Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, and iWork are part of the technical toolkit for this role.
Additional Information
This is a 6+ month contract position based in Sunnyvale, CA. The role is hybrid, with 3 days onsite each week. The assignment is for a fast-paced production environment supporting a global consumer brand.
