Project Manager

Role overview

This role calls for a seasoned Project Manager to oversee IT and software delivery initiatives in Dubai. The position is centered on leading projects from planning through execution and control, with strong coverage of both traditional waterfall and Agile approaches.

Core profile

The ideal candidate brings at least 8 years of verified project management experience, including work executed in Agile environments. Hands-on software engineering exposure is considered an advantage, and prior experience in the airline sector will be a plus. A PMP certification is mandatory, while an Agile certification is strongly preferred. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, or an equivalent qualification, is also desirable.

What the job involves

You will be responsible for planning, running, monitoring, controlling, and reporting on projects across multi-disciplinary IT teams. The role includes building detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, resources, and deliverables for both internal implementations and vendor-led product rollouts.

• Lead software development and IT project delivery using waterfall and Agile methods such as Scrum.
• Coordinate work across various IT functions and keep teams aligned toward shared goals.
• Prepare comprehensive project plans covering scope, timeline, cost, staffing, and outputs.
• Drive the RFP cycle by defining requirements, shortlisting vendors, evaluating options, and supporting contract finalization.
• Set up project governance and review cadence to ensure proper oversight from relevant stakeholders.
• Use resources effectively and guide the team toward successful project outcomes.
• Maintain clear communication with project members and all key stakeholders.
• Share regular progress updates, reviews, and status reports to manage expectations.
• Track tasks, dependencies, milestones, and delivery timelines.
• Identify project risks early and put mitigation plans in place.
• Address issues proactively to reduce impact on delivery.
• Apply quality controls so outputs meet agreed standards.
• Watch project spending closely to stay within approved budget.
• Manage changes to scope, schedule, and cost through formal change control procedures.
• Run project reviews to capture lessons learned and improvement opportunities.

Additional requirements

• Strong, proven project management background with a minimum of 8 years in the field.
• Experience managing IT and software development projects for at least 5 years.
• Ability to work with traditional and Agile delivery frameworks.
• Skilled in stakeholder coordination, reporting, issue handling, and governance.
