Role Overview

This position sits within a design and engineering consultancy environment in Qatar. The coordinator will keep multidisciplinary design activities organized, make sure deliverables are issued on time, support compliance with local Qatar requirements, and help maintain clear communication among clients, consultants, authorities, and internal teams.

Core Responsibilities

The role covers coordination of architectural, structural, and MEP design outputs across all project stages. It also involves identifying and closing design gaps, aligning inputs from different disciplines, and tracking progress against agreed milestones.

Another key part of the job is managing consultant interactions. The coordinator will serve as a main contact point for design consultants, review submissions for completeness and compliance, follow up on RFIs and technical questions, and make sure responses and approvals move forward without delay.

The role also includes authority coordination in Qatar. The coordinator will support submissions and approvals with bodies such as Ashghal, Kahramaa, and Civil Defence Qatar, while ensuring adherence to Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), local regulations, NOCs, and permit requirements.

On the planning and reporting side, the candidate will maintain design schedules, trackers, progress updates, and meeting records. The job also calls for chairing or supporting coordination meetings, preparing minutes of meeting (MOM), highlighting risks or delays, and reporting status to management and stakeholders.

Documentation control and quality assurance are also part of the position. This includes keeping design records organized, managing revisions and version control, checking drawings for consistency and quality, and maintaining logs for submissions, approvals, RFIs, and changes.

In addition, the coordinator will work closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to keep communication smooth and support value engineering and design optimization discussions.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, MEP Engineering, or a related discipline. A PMP or similar project management certification will be considered an advantage.

Applicants must bring at least 15 years of total professional experience, with mandatory project exposure in Qatar. A solid background in design consultancy work is required, along with experience on large-scale developments such as commercial, mixed-use, or infrastructure projects. Prior responsibility for design coordination and consultant management is essential.
