Role Overview
Amazon's Capex Procurement team in India is looking to hire a Procurement Manager overseeing Capex categories across Pan-India, with special emphasis on the Quick Commerce segment. The role requires handling multiple categories, managing projects of considerable complexity, and functioning with substantial independence while influencing various internal teams. The manager will define vendor capabilities, procurement approaches, and an innovation roadmap for their categories. Collaboration with design engineering teams and discovery of suppliers in domains such as General Contractors, Cold Rooms, and Shelving for Quick Commerce is essential. The role involves setting industry standards in procurement processes and partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver excellent outcomes for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze spend, compliance, and performance data to guide supplier or category decisions, focusing on the Quick Commerce stream's procurement strategies.
- Utilize market segment insights to recognize trends and prevent market-driven challenges.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure execution, and communicate effectively to secure buy-in from customers and suppliers.
- Drive initiatives to maintain supplier costs within targets, continuously seek cost reduction opportunities, and advise business owners on purchase justification.
- Identify suppliers fit for long-term contracts based on their overall business value and formulate partnership standards.
- Set and regularly review supplier diversity and sourcing targets, expanding supplier options to elevate deliverables.
- Conduct negotiation of commercial terms, contracts, and implementation plans; coordinate with legal, operational teams, and suppliers to ensure contract compliance and execution.
- Operate independently with significant discretion, representing and promoting the Procurement team both internally and externally.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, strategic sourcing, operational planning, or supplier management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferred.
- 4 or more years of specialized experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, or procurement, preferably in Quick Commerce.
- Strong capability to manage supplier relationships proactively to drive customer value.
- Good judgment in supplier evaluation and performance monitoring ensuring project goals and schedules are met.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and program management skills.
- Strategic long-term thinking and planning proficiency.
- Skills in financial and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
- Proactive mindset with urgency in execution.
- Customer-focused approach with effective communication skills.
- Positive, collaborative attitude encouraging innovation and challenging conventions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in PC skills, including Windows and Excel.
