Role Overview
The Payroll Analyst 1 will be responsible for handling payroll end to end for Digicel markets across the Caribbean. The role includes ensuring employees are paid on time, statutory deductions and related obligations are paid correctly, and payroll general ledger accounts are properly reconciled.
Key Duties
- Share payroll timelines and cut-off dates with the relevant stakeholders.
- Collect, combine, and verify payroll inputs received from HR and other departments.
- Update payroll records and changes in the payroll system.
- Check the payroll register to confirm that all approved changes have been included accurately.
- Prepare payroll review packs and circulate them to the right reviewers.
- Track the review cycle until final payroll approval is completed.
- Prepare bank portal payment files and ensure the required approvals are in place.
- Make sure monthly statutory taxes, pension contributions, and any other required payments are made on time.
- Process staff loan payments within the correct period.
- Assist cash flow planning by providing reliable payroll and tax forecasts.
- Prepare monthly payroll journal entries and complete reconciliations.
- Support internal and external auditors with information needed at financial year end.
- Work with banking partners to quickly resolve bank-related issues.
- Maintain and update the payroll software.
- Handle additional ad hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
The role calls for a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance or a related accounting field, along with ACCA Level 3. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in a comparable role. Prior exposure to MCS BizPay, PayPak, and Oracle PeopleSoft is preferred, as is experience with Great Plains and Workday. Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required, with intermediate Excel skills being essential.
