About the Employer

National Vehicle Distribution (NVD) is a family-run business that began in 1980 to support vehicle manufacturers with reliable, damage-free delivery of their products. Over the years, the company has grown into a single-source logistics partner, covering outbound transport, storage, and vehicle enhancement before final handover. NVD has also been an early mover in digitising the finished vehicle logistics sector, using technology to improve speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness for customers. Its focus on innovation and continuous service improvement remains central to the business.

Role Overview

This position is for an experienced panel beater to deliver high-standard vehicle body repairs in an accident repair centre. The work includes panel replacement, alignment, cosmetic repair, heavy structural repair, strip-and-refit tasks, welding, and chassis alignment, all completed to manufacturer and company quality standards. The role sits within a skilled bodyshop team and requires safe, efficient work with a strong focus on finish quality.

The successful candidate will handle everything from minor filler and plastic repairs through to more involved structural repairs. The job also involves using specialist equipment such as dent-pulling and welding systems, as well as preparing repaired panels for painting and final finishing. A strong eye for detail, a commitment to doing the job properly, and the ability to work flexibly on shifts are all important. Some basic computer knowledge is needed, though training will be provided. A full, clean Class B driving licence is mandatory.

Pay and Benefits

  • Annual pay is €52,000 to €57,000, inclusive of workshop bonus and shift premium.
  • A €2,000 joining bonus is available for panel beaters at level 2 and above.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Employee purchase options for tyres and tools.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Reduced-rate gym membership.
  • Bike-to-work support.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out accurate strip-and-refit work on vehicles.
  • Perform cosmetic repairs, including light filler work and bumper or plastic repairs.
  • Prepare panels properly for primer and paint.
  • Handle heavy repair work to a high finishing standard.
  • Replace panels where necessary.
  • Complete MIG/MAG steel welding and spot welding as essential tasks.
  • Use panel dent-pulling equipment as part of repair work.
  • Work on chassis alignment and jig-based repairs.
  • Use plastic welding and glue-pulling tools when required, with training provided.
  • PDR experience is beneficial, although training can be provided.
  • Aluminium or brass welding experience is an advantage but not essential.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a panel beater, including strip-and-refit, panel repair, and panel replacement.
  • Hands-on knowledge of chassis alignment and jig work.
  • Ability to use dent-pulling equipment.
  • Familiarity with plastic welding and glue-pulling methods is useful; training will be given.
  • Good determination and a strong finish-the-job attitude.
  • Basic computer skills, with training available.
  • High attention to detail and a clear commitment to quality.
  • Full, clean Class B driving licence.
  • Availability to work shifts.
