Role overview
Third Generation Painting Co. is hiring Painter's Helpers in Eugene, Oregon. This position is the entry point into painter training and focuses on preparing interior and exterior surfaces so painting work can be completed to a high standard. The role calls for someone who learns quickly, works efficiently with limited guidance, and handles tasks with reliability, precision, and strong attention to detail.
What you will do
- Set up job sites by masking surfaces, placing tarps, protecting fixtures, and arranging ladders and other equipment.
- Get walls and other surfaces ready for painting through scraping, sanding, removing old coatings, power washing, and similar preparation work.
- Repair imperfections by filling cracks and holes with suitable materials such as plaster, spackling, and caulking.
- Keep worksites and tools clean after the job is done.
- Follow all required health and safety procedures while working.
Skills and qualifications
- Prior work history in construction or related hands-on fields is a plus.
- Comfort using common painting and prep tools such as maskers and caulking guns.
- Good manual dexterity and balance for work on ladders, scaffolding, and similar setups.
- Strong focus on quality and detail.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
Additional requirements
- A drug test is mandatory, including marijuana testing for both recreational and medicinal use.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- You are expected to bring strong effort and a hardworking attitude every day.
- Saturday work and overtime are required.
- Some overnight travel and out-of-town assignments may be needed.
Job details
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Eugene, Oregon. The schedule includes 8-hour shifts, day shifts, Monday through Friday, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
