About the Role
HeadQuarters operates as the back-office support function for cannabis brands and operators, handling sales operations, accounts receivable, finance, data, and order processing so clients can concentrate on business growth. Delivery teams create substantial amounts of data, and this role is responsible for turning that information into clear, usable insight.
As an Operations Analyst, you will create dashboards and recurring reports that show clients and internal teams what is happening across the business. You will also investigate the data to identify unusual movements, improving trends, and opportunities where revenue or efficiency may be being missed. The work covers sales reporting, yield and operational reporting, plus basic cost and financial reporting across multiple client accounts.
This position suits someone who does not wait passively for a question to be assigned. The strongest analysts here are proactive thinkers who decide which questions matter, examine what a changing metric is being compared against, understand what decision it supports, and distinguish between a true business issue and a data issue.
What You'll Do
- Create new dashboards and ongoing reports from the ground up using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, or similar platforms, while deciding what should be included and why.
- Extract and reorganize information from CRMs, help desk systems, POS tools, and spreadsheets into reporting that answers practical business questions.
- Review sales, operations, and cost-related data to uncover anomalies, patterns, and improvement areas, then present findings in a way that enables action.
- Track and report on measures such as sales performance, lead funnels, yield, response times, and cost trends across different client accounts.
- Interpret a profit and loss statement or income statement well enough to recognize when figures appear inconsistent, even if you did not prepare the statements yourself.
- Work closely with delivery and client-facing teams to determine what should be measured in the first place.
What You'll Need
- Advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, including pivots, lookups, and real analytical models rather than simple formatting work.
- Practical experience building dashboards in at least one drag-and-drop visualization platform such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or a similar tool; maintaining dashboards alone is not enough.
- Solid financial understanding, including the ability to interpret balance sheets or income statements and reason through what the numbers indicate.
- Confidence pulling data from CRM or help desk systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zendesk, or similar tools, then turning exports into useful reporting on funnels, response times, conversions, and related metrics.
- Comfort using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini as part of the workflow for writing queries, troubleshooting formulas, and structuring analysis.
- A strong analytical mindset that focuses on identifying the right question, not simply producing an answer to an assigned report.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of SQL, which is preferred over Python, or a strong willingness to learn it quickly.
- Python experience for automation and analysis.
- Experience managing work across several clients or business units at the same time.
- Exposure to cannabis or other regulated, data-intensive industries.
Benefits
- Fully remote work with a flexible and dynamic setup.
- The opportunity to support data-driven decisions for established cannabis brands and operators.
- Ownership of reporting and analytics that directly affect business outcomes.
- A high degree of autonomy with room to develop analytical expertise.
Values
The team is guided by curiosity, collaboration, and persistence. The company emphasizes deep understanding, collective problem-solving, and resilience in working toward meaningful long-term impact. These principles shape how the team works and how it supports client success.
