Role overview
Avani Auckland Metropolis Residences is seeking a seasoned, polished, and energetic Night Manager for a full-time position. In this role, you will be the welcoming point of contact for guests arriving late, help ensure smooth overnight operations, and work closely with your team to deliver consistently high standards of service.
Key duties
- Greet late-night arrivals and manage check-in and check-out activities efficiently.
- Provide a warm, professional experience that makes every guest feel well looked after.
- Serve as the manager on duty during overnight hours and take full accountability for hotel operations.
- Coordinate and monitor overnight tasks so they are completed accurately and on time.
- Keep clear logs, records, and handover notes for the morning team.
- Handle guest issues promptly and tactfully to preserve a strong service impression.
- Work with on-site security to help protect guests and hotel property throughout the night.
Working pattern
This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week. The roster rotates across Monday to Sunday, and shifts are scheduled between 10:00pm and 6:30am. These details may change depending on operational needs.
Candidate profile
Success in this role calls for prior supervisory experience in a hotel front office environment, along with solid leadership ability. A strong background in hospitality, ideally in a hotel or resort, is important, as is a thorough understanding of guest service expectations and day-to-day hotel operations.
You should also bring excellent customer service skills, good judgement under pressure, strong organisational and time management ability, and a consistently professional appearance. Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to changing schedules is essential.
