About the role
dnata is a major global provider of air services, with operations spanning ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering across five continents. Backed by more than 60 years in the industry, the business supports airline partners through passenger and customer services, ramp operations, and cargo handling at key airports throughout Australia.
The Ground Services team is seeking a proactive and highly motivated National Workforce Planner to join the team in a full-time national role. Reporting to the National Workforce Planning Manager, this position is central to operational planning and analysis for dnata Australia’s Ground Handling operations.
Location
Sydney International Airport, Mascot, New South Wales, Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Review and update seasonal workforce plans each week using flight schedules and stakeholder feedback, while working to fixed deadlines within a structured planning process.
- Oversee workforce supply reductions, including leave administration and coordination with training teams.
- Create efficient rosters and staff schedules that improve utilisation while maintaining safe and dependable operations.
- Support stakeholders with scenario analysis and modelling to aid financial, commercial, and operational decisions.
- Monitor staffing availability and efficiency across all ports, flag supply challenges, and recommend practical mitigation measures.
- Spot opportunities to strengthen planning tools and processes and help build a stronger culture of planning excellence.
What you’ll need
- A bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business, finance, or a similar field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in operational resource planning, ideally within aviation, transport, or a related sector.
- Strong people skills and the ability to explain complex operational and planning ideas to different audiences clearly.
- The ability to interpret planning or operational data and turn it into clear, engaging insights.
- Confidence working under pressure while balancing multiple priorities and stakeholder demands.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to satisfy aviation security and safety requirements.
Preferred experience
- Exposure to GroundStar and Plano scheduling or rostering systems.
- Working knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
