Role overview
The Manager, Player Relations - Golf will oversee player relations and operational support across WTGL and TGL. Reporting to the Vice President, Player Relations – Golf, this role sits on the wider Player Relations team and serves as the main point of ownership for WTGL player relations. The position is responsible for the logistics that help players, teams, and their support networks operate smoothly, with a focus on creating a polished, high-touch experience from arrival to competition.
Alongside player relations, the role also leads accreditation planning for WTGL and TGL, with accountability for operational execution and coordination across event operations. It also involves creating and maintaining efficient, scalable systems that support a controlled, high-performance environment for all stakeholders.
Player relations
- Own the full player experience for WTGL events, including the player environment, logistics, and match-day operations.
- Coordinate player movements, schedules, transportation, and readiness of assigned spaces for each event.
- Act as the main on-site operations contact for player support, accreditation, broadcast, and venue teams.
- Identify and resolve live issues that could affect the player experience or operational execution.
- Handle preseason and in-season logistics for players, including travel, scheduling, equipment, and communication with players and agents.
- Maintain accurate systems for player, team, and support staff data using registration and tracking tools.
- Run player registration workflows and manage information sharing among internal and external stakeholders.
Event operations
- Oversee the setup and ongoing quality of player-facing areas such as the Player Performance Center, locker rooms, and fitness spaces.
- Work closely with the Live Events team to translate the intended player experience into actual event execution.
- Contribute to special projects linked to live events, player operations, and changing league priorities.
Accreditation and access strategy
- Lead accreditation operations, including credential creation, production, distribution, and on-site support.
- Build and implement access control plans for venue zones in partnership with security, broadcast, and event operations.
- Manage credentialing systems and align access permissions with player requirements and operational needs.
- Create scalable accreditation processes that can grow with the league and increasing event complexity.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in live event operations, player relations, athlete services, team operations, or a similar function.
- Background in professional sports leagues, tournaments, or team settings, especially within golf or other global sports properties.
- Hands-on experience managing logistics and operations in live event environments with strong attention to detail.
- Experience supporting credentialing, access control, or related operational systems.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across teams such as athletes, broadcast, security, venue operations, and team staff.
- Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving setting.
- Proven capability to spot issues early and solve problems quickly in real time.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to work directly with athletes, agents, and external partners.
- Comfort using data systems, registration tools, and tracking workflows such as Excel, forms, and databases.
- Willingness to travel often and work non-standard hours based on live event schedules.
Preferred background
- Experience creating or scaling operational processes in a startup or new league environment.
- Familiarity with accreditation platforms, credentialing systems, or access management tools.
- Exposure to women’s sports or emerging leagues and an understanding of their growth potential.
- Ability to perform well in high-growth environments where structure is still evolving.
