Descripción del trabajo

The opportunity

Coursedog is hiring its first Manager, IT Systems to own the systems, integrations, and operational backbone that keep everyday business operations running smoothly. Reporting to the VP, Enterprise Systems & Architecture and working within the Centralized Operations & Systems team, this person will combine IT operations, data architecture, AI tooling support, and security operations into one core function supporting more than 200 employees.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable moving between urgent support issues and longer-term systems design. You will handle tier-1 IT support for internal tools, coordinate escalations to the broader Systems team when needed, and also shape the data connections and integrations that connect the company’s systems. In parallel, you will help operationalize AI tools and workflows so teams can move from ad hoc use to structured, reliable adoption. The role is highly cross-functional and requires close partnership with Operations, Finance, and Legal.

The position includes occasional after-hours coverage for critical outages such as SSO or core SaaS disruptions, though these events are expected to be rare.

This starts as a fixed-term 4-month contract with the potential to extend or become a full-time role. It is fully remote and open to candidates based anywhere in the continental United States. Compensation for the contract is $9,000 to $11,000 per month, depending on experience, qualifications, and scope of work.

What you'll do

  • Administer the company’s primary SaaS stack, including Rippling, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Maxio, Jira, and related tools.
  • Act as the main contact for internal tool questions, requests, and escalations across the business.
  • Evaluate, introduce, and retire internal systems as business needs and scale evolve.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships, renewals, and contracts with support from Finance and Legal.
  • Design and maintain the data architecture that connects internal systems, including models, pipelines, warehousing, and integrations with the analytics environment.
  • Build and support ETL/ELT flows using APIs, iPaaS tools, and native connectors so information moves reliably between systems of record.
  • Create scalable data governance practices covering ownership, data quality, definitions, and access.
  • Work with Data & Analytics teams to ensure operational and AI-related workflows are supported by trustworthy, well-structured data.
  • Administer the company’s AI tooling environment, including licensing, access, usage policies, and employee enablement.
  • Help teams turn AI use cases into repeatable workflows and support responsible adoption across the organization.
  • Build the foundational systems needed for AI programs to scale, including SSO, identity, shared context, and data access.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations leaders as they incorporate AI into business processes.
  • Assess and test emerging AI capabilities while helping guide safe and effective adoption.
  • Own the internal-systems portion of SOC 2 compliance, including access control, provisioning and deprovisioning, access reviews, MFA enforcement, audit logging, and evidence gathering.
  • Implement and maintain identity and access management controls such as SSO, SCIM, least privilege, and RBAC across the tool stack.
  • Manage endpoint security and MDM for company devices.
  • Collaborate with Security and Legal on policies, risk assessments, implementations, and vendor security reviews, including those involving AI tools.
  • Create a central knowledge base and FAQ program covering core systems, common support issues, onboarding and offboarding, and AI tooling guidance.
  • Run a full audit of internal platforms, accounts, and permissions, then document the environment, identify excess access or orphaned accounts, and set up a repeatable review process.
  • Improve identity and access maturity by increasing MFA adoption, expanding SSO where possible, documenting exceptions, and standardizing provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Work with Operations stakeholders to evaluate SOC 2 readiness, identify control gaps, document processes, implement foundational controls, and build a roadmap to audit readiness.
  • Set up baseline IT operations such as ticket triage, support documentation, access request flows, and system ownership records.
  • Leave behind clear documentation, repeatable workflows, and measurable gains in security, access governance, and self-service.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT operations, business systems, data engineering, or systems engineering, including prior ownership of projects, mentorship, or end-to-end domain responsibility.
  • Direct experience administering modern SaaS environments such as an IdP like Okta, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, Salesforce, an HRIS, a finance or ERP platform, and support or engineering tools.
  • Strong Jira administration experience and comfort supporting operational workflows across teams.
  • Solid experience building and maintaining data models, integrations, and pipelines, along with advanced SQL ability and hands-on use of cloud warehouses and ETL/ELT tools such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, dbt, Fivetran, or Airbyte.
  • Practical AI fluency, including meaningful use of tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, or similar, plus experience helping others adopt them.
  • Experience actively running a security compliance program such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or a similar framework.
  • Experience building integrations through APIs, iPaaS platforms, or native connectors.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous business needs into scalable technical solutions, explain tradeoffs clearly, and work well with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • A strong preference for documentation, automation, and self-service rather than becoming a bottleneck.
  • The employer encourages applicants from non-traditional backgrounds and notes that candidates do not need to meet every listed qualification to be considered.

Nice to have

  • Experience building or expanding an AI tooling program, including licensing, governance, and internal enablement.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Familiarity with MCP, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented systems, or similar AI integration approaches.
  • Scripting skills in Python or JavaScript for automation and AI-related workflows.
  • Experience with MDM platforms such as Rippling, Kandji, Jamf, or Intune, plus endpoint security tools such as SentinelOne.
  • Previous experience taking a SOC 2 Type II audit through to a clean report.
