This is a permanent full-time position based in Blayney, NSW, with the factory location noted as Vittoria, New South Wales, Australia. The role calls for more than 3 years of relevant experience.
About the opportunity
Purina is driven by a strong commitment to pets and the people who care for them. In this role, you would join the Engineering team at the Blayney Factory as a Maintenance Scheduler, helping ensure maintenance work is planned and executed efficiently while balancing manpower, production requirements, tool and spare-part availability, and task priority.
Reporting to the Site Engineering Services Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for maintenance coordination across the site.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute data and planning support for building the maintenance budget using a zero-base approach, aligned with the expected maintenance programme for each asset and applicable guidelines.
- Prepare shutdown and project plans ahead of time so shutdowns can be managed smoothly and effectively.
- Develop and maintain four-week-ahead schedules for preventive and corrective maintenance work, including inspections, servicing, and repairs.
- Monitor and manage the work order backlog so it remains at an optimal 4–8 week level across Wet Plant, Dry Plant, Logistics, Industrial Services, Administrative Areas, and Pet Care Centre.
- Coordinate with the Technical Store to help ensure required parts and components are available before work is scheduled.
- Allocate labour, materials, and equipment so maintenance activities can be completed efficiently.
What you will bring
- You should be comfortable working in a collaborative specialist team and committed to delivering strong-quality outcomes.
- An engineering degree or advanced trade qualifications.
- At least 3 years of experience in a technical role, ideally in food manufacturing or consumer goods, such as technician, engineering supervisor, maintenance engineer, or a similar position.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance planning and coordination, including alignment with production schedules and related planning tasks such as budgeting, safety permits, coordination with operations, and maintenance KPI tracking.
- Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning methods, and maintenance execution.
- Experience supporting the start-up of technical equipment and/or production lines.
- A self-managed approach with consistent follow-through on defined KPIs and objectives.
- A strong history of delivering outcomes through cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication and presentation ability, along with confidence in influencing and negotiating to maintain high standards of performance and quality.
- Experience using CMMS platforms, with SAP preferred, plus proficiency in MS Office.
