Role overview
This full-time janitorial position is based in Pinehouse Lake, Saskatchewan. The role focuses on maintaining clean, organized, and sanitary buildings through routine upkeep and more intensive cleaning tasks.
What you will do
- Carry out heavy-duty cleaning to keep the facility orderly and presentable.
- Remove debris and trash using the approved disposal and infection-control processes.
- Strip, wax, scrub, buff, and refinish floors as needed.
- Dust and damp mop floors in line with established procedures.
- Shampoo carpets and rugs when required.
- Wash walls, glass, windows, furniture, and baseboards to support a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Move furniture and equipment to clean properly, then return items to their correct positions.
- Sanitize surfaces and clean assigned areas using the provided materials and equipment.
- Look for areas that need attention and take initiative to complete cleaning tasks.
- Complete duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Candidates should bring prior housekeeping or custodial experience, including about 2 years of hands-on experience with floor stripping and waxing. WHMIS and BSW certifications are considered an advantage. Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, are important, along with the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. The job also calls for someone who can work independently, contribute to a team, and handle the physical demands of the role.
Work schedule
The position follows a 12-hour day shift with a 14-days-on / 14-days-off rotation.
