About the Role
Crescent Hotels & Resorts is hiring a full-time Inspector for the housekeeping team at Marriott Syracuse Downtown in Syracuse, NY. This position focuses on reviewing room cleanliness, supporting service standards, and helping maintain a polished guest experience across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
What You'll Do
- Check cleaned guest rooms, turndown service areas, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to confirm they meet cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Support accident and loss prevention practices while helping maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Handle special requests, distribute supplies to team members, and record items in the Lost & Found log when needed.
- Sign out room keys, collect them, deliver them to assigned rooms, and restock heavy housekeeping carts.
- Inspect rooms visually for cleanliness and presentation, then confirm completion once standards are met.
- Respond promptly to guest questions, issues, and complaints to help resolve concerns and protect service quality.
- Work closely with Guest Room Attendants so rooms are completed on time and housekeeping standards stay consistent.
- Take on other related duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is self-driven, maintains a professional presence, and communicates clearly with guests and teammates. You should be ready to support coworkers, work collaboratively, and represent the hotel as a guest relations ambassador at all times. The role also requires familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment, the ability to push or pull loads up to 100 lbs, and comfort with scrubbing, reaching overhead, and working in confined spaces.
Experience Required
Prior experience in housekeeping, Guest Room Attendant work, or cleaning and sanitizing is required. Candidates should also have 2 to 5 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel or institutional environment. Flexible availability, including weekends, is necessary.
