Compensation and benefits

This position pays $20 to $28 per hour, depending on your background as a handyman and your experience with related work such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and drywall.

Primary duties

• Carry out small to medium repair and maintenance jobs for residential and commercial customers; individual projects may take anywhere from about two hours to two days.
• Discuss the job with customers, explain what is needed, set clear expectations about scope and cost, and make helpful recommendations.
• Deliver a strong customer experience that encourages repeat business and long-term relationships.
• Follow the company’s standard process for completing work and serving customers consistently.
• Record job details properly, invoice accurately, identify any required materials, and collect payment from customers.
• Work toward customer satisfaction, revenue, billing accuracy, and repeat-issue reduction targets.

Minimum qualifications

• You live in the local service area.
• You have at least 5 years of paid handyman experience.
• You own your own tools.
• You are eligible to be insured for driving the company vehicle.
• You can pass a background check and driving record review.
• You can lift up to 50 pounds on your own.
• You can safely work at heights and perform overhead tasks for extended periods.
• You present a professional appearance and help maintain the company vehicle.

Technical background needed

Experienced applicants should be highly capable in at least three of the following areas:

• Carpentry
• Bathroom remodeling and improvements
• Kitchen remodeling and improvements
• Interior and exterior painting
• Minor and major drywall repair
• General plumbing and electrical work where permitted by law
• Floor installation and refinishing
• Understanding of building codes
