Role overview
The Food Services Supervisor position is based in Lusail, Qatar, within the Food and Beverage & Culinary function. This is a full-time, non-management role at Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts. The worksite is Building No. 153, Street No. 347, Lusail, Qatar.
What you will do
You will help ensure the team operates smoothly so guests receive excellent service and their needs are met. The role calls for close attention to service standards, team coordination, safety, cleanliness, and day-to-day restaurant or dining area operations.
- Encourage the team to work together effectively so service standards are consistently met.
- Check staff grooming, personal hygiene, and uniforms, and correct any issues when needed.
- Handle opening and closing duties such as preparing supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing the premises.
- Review storage areas for orderliness, cleanliness, and proper FIFO stock rotation.
- Support scheduled inventory counts and help restock and order supplies as required.
- Monitor seating availability, service quality, safety, and guest well-being in dining areas.
- Prepare maintenance work orders for repairs and upkeep.
- Assist management with hiring, training, organizing, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, motivating, and developing employees.
- Act as a role model and first point of contact for the Fair Treatment and Open Door policy process.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Protect company property and keep confidential information secure.
- Support coworkers, treat everyone with dignity and respect, and contribute to shared team goals.
- Meet quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Perform reasonable job duties requested by supervisors.
Working conditions and physical demands
The role requires a hands-on presence on the floor and may involve extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking throughout the shift. You should be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing under 50 lbs (22.50 kg) without assistance. The job may also require reading small print, visually inspecting tools or equipment for defects, handling objects of different sizes and weights with fine motor control, reaching above the head and below the knees, bending, twisting, crawling, working in narrow or elevated spaces, and using service stairs or ramps.
Guest and communication expectations
All guests must be welcomed and acknowledged in line with company standards. Clear, professional verbal communication is important, including answering telephone calls appropriately and listening carefully to employee concerns.
Desired qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a secondary school diploma or an equivalent GED qualification. A minimum of 2 years of related work experience is required, along with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role. No license or certification is needed for this position.
