Role overview
This role is responsible for helping the restaurant maintain a spotless, organized, and sanitary environment. The dishwasher supports the team by ensuring all dishware, cookware, utensils, and kitchen areas meet high cleanliness and food-safety standards.
Key duties
- Follow all company rules for safety, sanitation, and related training.
- Clean and sanitize plates, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen tools in line with the company’s hygiene procedures.
- Keep cleaning and sanitizing tasks going throughout the shift.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and clearing debris from the floor.
- Handle assigned prep tasks, along with opening, closing, and beautification duties.
- Set up, monitor, and shut down the dish machine at the start of the day, during service, and at closing.
- Assist coworkers whenever support is needed.
Physical and working conditions
- Must be able to remain standing and walking for the entire shift.
- Should be able to reach, bend, and stoop as required.
- Will frequently work with hands in water mixed with chemical solutions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times per shift, including placing items on high shelves, in coolers, and in freezers.
- Work takes place in a damp, high-temperature indoor environment, with minimal outdoor exposure.
- Must work safely around hot plates, pans, and other heated equipment.
- Must also work safely with sharp knives and utensils.
Additional requirements
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Completion and passing of the food safety certification program, in line with company policy and Florida law.
Schedule and benefits
- Five-day workweek with two consecutive days off.
- Paid vacation: one week after the first year, two weeks after two years, and three weeks after ten years.
- Christmas bonus after one year of employment, equal to one week’s pay.
