Consultant General Surgeon

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and empathetic Consultant General Surgeon to become part of a healthcare team in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The position is centered on delivering high-standard surgical treatment, using both conventional and minimally invasive methods, and working closely with other specialists to improve patient results. Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and oversee patients who need general surgery treatment.
• Carry out a broad range of general surgical operations while following all safety and clinical standards.
• Manage patients before and after surgery to support the best possible recovery.
• Work with different medical professionals to create personalized treatment plans.
• Explain procedures, risks, and aftercare instructions to patients and their families.
• Keep medical records complete, clear, and up to date.
• Take part in continuing medical education, research activities, and quality improvement work.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) plus completion of an accredited General Surgery residency.
• Board certification in General Surgery is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of experience working as a Consultant General Surgeon.
• Strong command of a wide range of surgical methods and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong bedside manner.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
