Role Overview
This permanent Commercial Relationship Manager position is based in Hastings. The role is centred on managing and expanding a portfolio of business customers through trusted, long-term relationships and solutions tailored to each client’s needs. You will work to make banking simpler by developing a strong understanding of customer businesses and offering practical, commercially sound advice that supports both their objectives and ANZ’s growth.
Working Arrangements
The position is based in Hastings and follows standard office hours from Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and develop profitable relationships across a portfolio of business clients.
- Learn each customer’s business in depth and recommend proactive, customised banking solutions that support present and future goals.
- Promote useful support materials, workshops, and specialist assistance from both inside and outside the bank.
- Grow the portfolio while continuing to maintain strong relationships with established clients.
- Strengthen ANZ Business’s visibility in the market through networking and clear communication of its value proposition.
- Work closely with business teams and wider bank functions to support customer growth and ongoing success.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service that helps create enduring relationships and professional networks.
What You Should Bring
- Experience in relationship management, business development, or portfolio/account management.
- Background in banking, finance, or accounting is helpful, though not essential.
- The ability to work both on your own and as part of a team, with strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capability.
- Well-developed networking skills that help you build customer trust and grow portfolio value.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
- A growth-oriented mindset and willingness to learn, even if you do not meet every requirement.
