Civil Engineer

Position Overview

Alqotr is seeking a Civil Engineer to take charge of day-to-day site execution on a construction project in Riyadh. In this role, you will manage on-site civil works end to end, making sure structural, architectural, and finishing activities are carried out according to approved drawings, technical requirements, quality benchmarks, and the project timeline. The position calls for close collaboration with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel to keep work moving safely and efficiently.

What You Will Do

• Oversee and track the progress of structural, concrete, architectural, and finishing activities at the project site.
• Examine engineering drawings and ensure work is being executed in line with the approved design intent.
• Spot design mismatches, technical complications, and site-level execution issues, then develop practical solutions.
• Confirm that all work follows the approved specifications, quality expectations, and project requirements.
• Review subcontractor output and verify that it meets the required standards before approval.
• Keep an eye on project milestones and make sure construction stays aligned with the planned schedule.
• Work closely with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to support smooth delivery.
• Guide and support site engineers, supervisors, and labor teams so project goals are met effectively.
• Prepare site progress reports and share regular updates with management.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental rules across the site.
• Respond quickly to unexpected site challenges and take decisions that keep the project moving forward.

Qualifications

You should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and have at least 7 years of experience in construction and site execution. Background in managing structural, architectural, and finishing works is essential. A solid understanding of construction techniques, quality control practices, and site inspection procedures is also required.

Skills and Competencies

The role requires strong reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and technical documents, along with leadership, coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. You should be comfortable working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, staying organized, and managing time well. Familiarity with engineering software and technical reporting is also important.
